CPT Jack C. Pinney

 

PinneyCommandPhotoCPT Jack C. Pinney was born in Palm Springs, CA.  He enlisted in the Army in 2000, and attended Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, GA. He served as a Rifleman and Radio Telephone Operator for A / 1-14 IN, 2nd BDE, 25th ID, Schofield Barracks, HI.  While assigned to 1-14 IN, CPT Pinney deployed to Bosnia & Herzegovina in 2002 in support of Operation Joint Forge.  In 2002, CPT Pinney received an appointment to the United States Military Academy Preparatory School, and subsequently an appointment to the United States Military Academy (USMA) the following year.
 
CPT Pinney graduated from USMA and was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 2007. His assignments include 2-30 IN, 4th BCT, 10th MTN DIV, Fort Polk, LA, where he served as an Infantry Platoon Leader, Scout Platoon Leader, and Assistant Operations Officer during deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 08-09, and Operation Enduring Freedom 10-11.  Following the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, he was assigned to Fort Bliss, TX, where he commanded B / 1-6 IN, 2 BDE, 1st Armored Division, and served as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General, Brigade Modernization Command.
 
His military education includes the Army Mountain Warfare School, Ranger School, Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course, Counter-IED basic forensic course, Airborne School, and the Asymmetric Warfare Adaptive Leader Program.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in History, and a Master of Public Administration from Columbus State University. 
 
His awards include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (1OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Ranger Tab.
