1SG John C. Reeves

 

 

SFC John Reeves enlisted into the Army in September of 1998.  He attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training as an Infantryman at Fort Benning, Georgia.  SFC Reeves has served as a Rifleman, SAW Gunner, and Gunner with Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion 14th Infantry, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY from February of 1999 to June of 2000. He PCS’d to Camp Bonifas, South Korea and served as a Tour Guide with the United Nations Command Security Battalion-Joint Security Area from July of 2000 to August of 2001.  After a break in service SFC Reeves joined the Comanche Company, 1st Battalion 23rd Infantry, 3rd Brigade 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, WA in May 2002. He served as a Team Leader, Squad Leader, and Weapons Squad Leader. He deployed in support of OIF I, II, VI, VII, and VIII. In January 2008 SFC Reeves PCS’d to Hotel Company, 1st Battalion 3rd Infantry Regiment, Fort Myer, VA. SFC Reeves served as Squad Leader, and Platoon Sergeant. SFC Reeves PCS’d to RHHT, 3d Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, TX in July 2012. He served as Plans NCOIC, Regimental Battle NCO, and First Sergeant for the Brave Rifles. He deployed in support of OEF XIV.  In February 2016 SFC Reeves PCS’d to Hotel Company, 1st Battalion 3rd Infantry Regiment, Fort Myer, VA.

SFC Reeves’ military education includes Master Fitness Trainer Course, Operational Fitness PH. I & II, Air Assault, Battle Staff NCO Course, Primary Leader Development Course, Advance Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, and Combatives Level 1. 

SFC Reeves’ Awards and Decorations Include Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1 SLC), Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), Valorous Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation (1 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (Fifth Award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 Campaign Star), Iraq Campaign Medal (4 Campaign Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 4), United Nations Medal, NATO Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.
