CPT John J. Kottlowski

 

CPT John J. Kottlowski received his commission in May 2010 from the United States Military Academy as an Armor Officer branched detailed from Military Intelligence.

Upon completion of the Armor Officer Basic Course at Fort Knox, KY, CPT Kottlowski was assigned to the 8th Squadron, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Fort Lewis, WA where he served as a platoon leader and deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2012.

After redeployment, CPT Kottlowski served as the executive officer of Charlie Company, 109th Military Intelligence Battalion, 201st BFSB. In 2014 CPT Kottlowski attended the Military Intelligence Captains Career Course at Fort Huachuca, AZ.

In 2015 CPT Kottlowski was assigned to The Old Guard and served as the Regimental S-2, then the Battalion S-2 for 1st Battalion, 3d Infantry Regiment.

CPT Kottlowski’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal and Ranger Tab.
