CPT Adrian Schaar

 

CPT Adrian R. Schaar graduated from Otterbein College in Westerville, OH with a Bachelor of Arts in Health Sciences in 2004.  CPT Schaar enlisted in the Army from 2005-2009 and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant while serving in 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (AASSLT) at Fort Campbell, KY.  CPT Schaar deployed to Iraq twice, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom IV and VI.  CPT Schaar commissioned as an Infantry Officer through Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, GA in October 2009.


CPT Schaar’s initial assignment was with 3
rd Battalion, 509th Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division at Fort Richardson, AK where he served as an Airborne Infantry Platoon Leader.  CPT Schaar deployed to Paktya Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Following completion of the Maneuver Captains Career Course, CPT Schaar served as the Battalion Training Officer and Assistant Operations Officer in 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, CO. CPT Schaar commanded ATTACK Company, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment for 14 months.Following his assignment at Fort Carson, CPT Schaar reported to Honor Guard Company, 4th Battalion, 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) where he currently commands.

CPT Schaar’s awards and decorations include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Ranger Tab, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal, and Army Good Conduct Medal.  Additionally, he has completed the Maneuver Captains Career Course, Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course, and Basic Officer Leader Course.
