Command Sergeant Major Scott Beeson is from Greenfield, Indiana. He enlisted in the Army in 1988 and attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training as an 11B (Infantryman) at Fort Benning, Georgia. His military education includes PLDC, BNCOC, ANCOC, First Sergeants Course, Drill Sergeant School, Master Fitness Trainer Course, Ranger School, Basic Airborne School, Air Assault School, Jumpmaster School, and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 62). He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a focus in Homeland Security from the University of Maryland.

His military assignments include 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, South Korea; 4th Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; the Indiana National Guard; 2d Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Drill Sergeant, 2d Battalion, 54th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia; 2d Battalion, 503d Airborne Infantry Regiment, Camp Ederle, Italy; B Company, 3d Battalion, 34th Infantry Regiment, Fort Jackson, South Carolina; and Command Sergeant Major of 3d Battalion (Airborne), 509th Infantry Regiment, Alaska. CSM Beeson’s deployments include: Operation Just Cause, Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom VI and VIII.

CSM Beeson’s awards and decorations include the: Bronze Star Medal (3d award), Purple Heart Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3d award), Army Commendation Medal with Valor, Army Commendation Medal (4th award), the Army Achievement Medal (6th award), Combat Infantryman’s Badge (2nd award), Expert Infantryman Badge, Drill Sergeant Badge, Master Parachutists Badge with 2 Bronze Stars, and Air Assault Badge.
