In order to request a performance please begin the scheduling process through our headquarters command, The U.S. Army Military District of Washington (MDW).

The Different Color Guards

Army Color Guard photo
Army Color Guard (ACG):
  • Comprised of four Soldiers outfited in the Army Service Uniform.
  • An elite Colors team that expertly posts, presents, and retires the Colors in a variety of settings.
  • Supports the following events: Presidential, State, Congressional, foreign Dignitary, Department of Defense, Government Branches, government Sponsored Organizations, the United States military, and Organizations that support the military.
  • May also be requested by organizations that are supported by the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment.
Joint Armed Forces Color Guard (JAFCG):
  • Comprised of eight service members representing all branches of the United States military.
  • Supports the following events: Presidential, State, Congressional, Foreign Dignitary, Department of Defense, Defense Contractors, Government Branches, and all branches of the United States military.
Colonial Color Guard (CCG):
  • Comprised of four to five Soldiers wearing Revolutionary War-style uniforms.
  • Reserved exclusively for exclusive military and government events.

Costs Associated with Performance

 

 Costs for transportation of personnel and equipment, billeting, and messing with be paid by the sponsoring agency when the ceremony takes place beyond the National Capitol Region; the area under military jurisdiction of the Military District of Washington (MDW). Specific exceptions to this requirement may be granted only by the Commanding General, MDW, e.g., transportation costs when transportation can be positively confirmed and provided by government aircraft.

  If any ceremony is to be conducted primarily for the benefit of the government, the government agency requesting/sponsoring the activity will bear all costs except for ground transportation within the area under military jurisdiction of MDW.
