1SG Raymond Wrensch


1SG Raymond Wrensch was raised in Danville, Illinois and joined the Army in August 2003.


His previous assignments include: Rifleman, Automatic Rifleman, Machine Gun Team Leader, Fire Team Leader, Squad Leader, Weapon Squad Leader, Anti-tank Section Leader, and  Platoon Sergeant, 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment (Jun 2004 - Apr 2014); Human Resources Command Professional Development NCO Liaison, HHC, 75th Ranger Regiment (Apr 2014 - Jul 2016); Assistant Operations Sergeant, 1st Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment (Jul 2016 - Oct 2016). He has deployed nine times in support of the Global War on Terror; five to Afghanistan and four to Iraq.


1SG Wrensch's military education includes the Advanced Infantry Training, Basic Leader Course, Advance Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Ranger Indoctrination Program, Ranger Assessment and Selection Program 2, Ranger Course, Airborne School, Jump Master Course, Pathfinder Course, Heavy Weapons Leader Course, Combatives Level 1, 75th Ranger Regiment Master Breachers Course, Squad Designated Marksman and Military District of Washington Pre-Command Course.


1SG Wrensch's military awards and decorations include:  Bronze Star (2 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal , Army Commendation Medal , Army Achievement Medal (7 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (3 Campaign Stars), Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 2), NATO Medal, Presidential Unit Citation Award, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, and Ranger Tab. Foreign Awards include Chilean Parachutist Badge, Australian Parachutist Badge, British Parachutist Badge, German Proficiency Badge (Gold), German Armed Forces Badge for Weapons Proficiency (Gold), and the Norwegian Foot March Badge (Bronze). He has also been awarded the Order of Saint Maurice.


In addition to his military training, 1SG Wrensch also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ashford University in Organizational Management.
