CPT Travis G. Womack originally enlisted in the U.S. Army in July 2003 as an Airborne Infantryman. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 325th Infantry Regiment at Fort Bragg, NC. He deployed three time while at Fort Bragg, once to Afghanistan and twice to Iraq. Upon returning home he volunteered for recruiting detail and was assigned to the Houston Recruiting Battalion in Houston, TX.

While serving as a recruiter, CPT Womack completed his bachelor’s degree and applied for Officer Candidate School. He was accepted and received his commission in March 2012 as an Ordnance Officer. After completing Basic Officers Leaders Course at Fort Lee, CPT Womack was assigned to 1st Battalion, 14th Field Artillery Regiment (HIMARS), Fort Sill, OK. as a maintenance platoon leader. In April 2013, he would deploy with the HIMARS Battalion to the United Arab Emirates in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

After redeployment CPT Womack would serve as an Executive Officer for the 578th Forward Support Company followed by being the Battalion S4 for 1-14 HIMARS. He would leave Fort Sill to attend the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course in Fort Lee, VA.

In 2016, CPT Womack was assigned to the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and served as the Battalion S4 for 1st Battalion, 3d Infantry Regiment.

CPT Womack’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (w/Silver Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal (w/Oak Leaf Cluster), the Iraq Campaign Medal (w/Two Combat Stars), the Afghanistan Campaign Medal (w/One Combat Star), Combat Infantrymen Badge, Expert Infantrymen Badge, Gold Recruiter Badge (w/Three sapphires), and Basic Parachutist Badge.
